Brother Peng Cao

Life is filled with many different choices. We can choose the kind of life we would like to have. It is just like when 10 people are crossing the road, there are 10 different ways of walking. I was very lucky to have met Sister Chan on 12 May 2013. I did not really understand much of what she said, but I was attracted to her
enthusiasm. I think that this is the road that God has prepared, allowing all of our decisions work out for the best throughout time.

In a world without a standard to look towards, some people say that whatever way they feel like living is the right way. They call this type of lifestyle "freedom". If you say that the right way to live is just whatever you feel like, is that really something that you can put your trust in?

After thinking about this, I remembered the missionaries that I had run into. I went over to ask them to help me understand. In the beginning they told me about how families could be together forever and how we could have eternal happiness, but I didn't really believe them. I just thought that it was pretty cool. That's just because I've never come across Christianity or God before. This didn't stop me from learning more about God.

Most importantly was understanding the missionaries' experience. They really impressed me. I didn't know the great sacrifice they make by leaving their homes, leaving their families, and putting aside educational pursuits in order to come out to a foreign place on a mission. On top of that is the fact that they do this missionary work every single day! Previously, I had thought that they were only doing this once a week. I had never thought that they have been this selfless in dedicating themselves to the work of the Lord! Understanding the sacrifice that they gave made me think that this church has got to be true. I continued to have a desire to keep coming to church.

It's been about eight months from the first time that I have been to church. This journey has had a lot of challenges and afflictions. There have been many ups and downs. At one point I even had the thought of giving up on the church altogether. All of these experiences have filled my life. I'm not just going through the same old, monotonous, daily routines anymore. I actually have a brighter hope. I think that every time I go to church it is always worth it. I always get a lot out of it. All of the people here are filled with love, and make me feel like I'm home. The missionaries have also shared the gospel with me, its importance, and how helping others is the way to find true happiness. Finally, I decided to become part of them by getting baptized. I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It has changed my life.

When I was about 5 years old and have not yet attended school, I would go to my grandmother's house and there is a church right next to her house. I would often go to that church to play and would see a lot of Christ's pictures on the wall. Among some of the pictures were His birth and crucification. Even though I saw a lot of pictures, I did not know it's meaning. It was only until I arrived in the USA, my wife was on the street and met the Missionaries. She developed a lot of interest in the church and started taking Missionary lessons and was baptized. I went to her baptism that day. That was the first time that I went to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Afterwards, I became good friends with the Missionaries and learned the gospel. I understood the life of Jesus Christ and His Atonement. Finally, I obtained a testimony. I know that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove. I know that this is true. I joined the church, was baptized and became a Latter-Day Saint. I have great interest in the gospel and I am still studying it continually as I want to understand more about God's word.

After I have joined the church, I attended Priesthood class and know that we have the restored Priesthood. I know where it came from and have a testimony of it. I know that the church that has the Priesthood Authority from God is the true church. We have the Melchizedek and Aaronic Priesthood and it is ordained of God. Because we are the restored church, we have the restored Priesthood. The Bible also mention about the restored Priesthood and so we can know of its truthfulness. We need to use the Priesthood to serve one another.

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I will never forget the missionary that brought me the gospel. It was her that helped me to understand Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. At the start I thought the Bible and the Book of Mormon were just a record of historical legends. I was also on the fence about what the missionaries taught - believing half and doubting half
of what they taught. She asked me to ask Heavenly Father. She said to me, "You take the words in your heart and say them to Heavenly Father. He will help you." She then said a sentence that is engraved in my heart, "Just say what you normally say with your mother and father. Like you usually do, saying what is in your heart is enough." I prayed for myself twice. I knew that Heavenly Father really would answer my prayer. Since that time, my faith has strengthened and I like the missionaries sharing gospel knowledge with me. I frequently pray and ask things of Heavenly Father, but what surprised me is that I heard the still small voice, to be able to see the visions recorded in the book.

On September 27th, 2011 I was baptized. I know that after people are baptized, with God's help they will change.

I testify that the Book of Mormon is the word of God & we can listen and read the scriptures.

I testify that our church is the living church.

Sister Cong Ying Zheng

I came to the USA in August 2013. Two weeks later, I met Sister MacKay, Sister Dong and Sister Lee. That was a miraculous day. I was with my mother in Chinatown running errands and I walked passed the same crossroad three times (The same crossroad that I met the Missionaries). The first two times I passed that crossroad, I didn't see the Missionaries but the third time, Sister MacKay handed me a pass along card and asked "Do you want to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ?" Sister MacKay is an American and it is very common for an American to speak Mandarin in China. But an American who speaks Mandarin in America caught my attention. I stopped, took the pass along card and left my number with the Missionaries.

The next day, the Sister Missionaries gave me a call and we set up a time to meet the following day.

When the Sister Missionaries asked me if I wanted to be baptized into their church, I asked them how baptism was being done. They told me it was by immersion. In the Bible, Matthew 3:16 it states "Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water". Even though it wasn't stated exactly that baptism was by immersion, but "went up straight way out of the water" shows that baptism is by having the
whole body in the water. It is not like the other churches who would just take a basin and the pastors would drip some water on the heads of the saints. Baptism by immersion is the perfect way as it washes all of our sins from head to toe.

Other churches rarely mention about the Holy Ghost. But in the Bible, it is stated clearly that the Holy Ghost exists. For example, Matthew 4:1 states "Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil". Romans 8:16 also states "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God". If Heavenly Father did not prepare a way for me and without the guidance of the Holy Ghost, I wouldn't have met the Sister Missionaries or know about the Book of Mormon which is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. The moment I saw the Book of Mormon, my eyes were wide opened and I was
very surprised. I actually had the opportunity to read another book of Jesus Christ. This is the greatest blessing that Heavenly Father has given me, because the contents in the Book of Mormon allows me to
relate it to my life. Even though I have not yet finished reading the Book of Mormon, but I have already received a lot of blessings. No words can describe the miracles that the Book of Mormon brings.

It is my honor to become a Latter-Day Saints. I am grateful that Heavenly Father prepared the way for me to join the church. Church in the Bible means "a chosen people". Church is not a building or some kind of organization, rather it is being chosen from sin and the world to become "Christ's body". Christ is the head of the church and the church is Christ's body. In Colossians 1:18 it states "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence". Ephesians 1:23 also states "Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all". Brothers and sisters, the
church needs you, you need the church too, just like your family needs you and you need your family. We need to encourage and support each other and learn the gospel knowledge together. This way, Saints can grow and we will be strengthen spiritually.

The Bible is a good teacher, the Book of Mormon is a good friend. The Bible is our life guide, the Book of Mormon is our life compass. I am a Latter-Day Saint and it is my biggest honor.

Sister Pei Fun Hsu

The following is Sister Hsu Pui Fun's conversion story

My first contact with Missionaries was in Hong Kong in 1962. The Missionaries were standing outside my door and my mother saw two foreigners. They asked if they could come in for 5 minutes. My mother
immediately said: "sure!" My sister and I were asked to welcome them. Subsequently, the Missionaries began teaching the gospel and would come to our house every week. When it came for us to be baptized, my mother did not allow both of her daughters to be baptized. She only allowed my sister to be baptized and I could not. It was because she only had 2 daughters and if the both of us joined the church, no one would pay respect to her when she died. Even though the Missionaries tried to convince my mother, she would not change her mind, so the Missionaries decided to baptized my sister first.

Afterwards, the Missionaries still did not give up and continued to convince my mother to let me get baptized. Not long later, my mother allowed me to get baptized. My baptism was at Kowloon Tong where the Temple is now located at. At that time in Hong Kong, there were two Sacrament Meetings, one in the morning and another at night. My mother only allowed me to attend the Sacrament Meeting at night after I had cooked dinner and washed the dishes. In church, I was the big sister as most of the members were about the same age as my younger sister. Everyone called me big sister or "Big Fu" and my sister "Small Fu" as our last name was Fu.

I've joined the church for 51 years. I was baptized in 1962 and I was only 22 years old.

Even though I do not know a lot, but most of the time when I pray, whatever I asked for would come true. I know that this Church is true. Our church is the right Church. I believe that God chose a prophet to lead us.

Sister Mo Yin Chin

I am Sister Chin Mo Yin. I joined the church many years ago. When I was still in Hong Kong, my teacher asked me if I had time to go to church. Since it was my teacher's invitation, I accepted it. My close friend and I decided to go together and check it out. She has become my relative now.

At that time, the chapel that I went to was on Cornwall Street in a big house and that was where I attended church meetings. From then on, Missionaries came to my home and taught me the gospel. Every week, the American Missionaries would come to my house and using Cantonese to teach me until the time for me to be baptized. My parents were not in favor of me believing in Jesus. They told me: "If you have a religion, no one will marry you." I said: "No, unless you are a really bad girl otherwise no one will dislike you." So, I went with my friend and got baptized without telling my parents. Only after a month did I tell my mother about it. My mother asked why I did not listen to her. I told her that I had already been baptized and received a  testimony that Heavenly Father will help me and that prayers bring blessings. I was baptized in 1957 and was married in December 1959 and went to the USA. After coming to the USA, I was not able to find the church. When I retired, I went with my sister to California for vacation and we went to the Mormon Temple Visitor Center. I then remembered that I was also from the Mormon church. At the Visitor Center, Missionaries brought us around to the various places. The Temple was really beautiful and magnificent. I was very happy. The Missionaries asked me if I had any request. I wrote down saying that I needed a copy of the Book of Mormon. There are many different Christian churches and they all do not have the Book of Mormon.

The Missionaries contacted me very quickly and even left a voice mail wanting to come visit me and to give me the Book of Mormon, but at that time I was not home yet. They continued to contact me and Elder Chen was very enthusiastic and told me that Chinatown has a Branch. From then on, I attended church every week.

I know that this church is true. God has blessed me. If we have any problems, he will protect us. For example, when I was sick and needed a surgery, the doctor told me initially that I needed to stay in the hospital for a couple of days as it was a major surgery. But after a day, I could go home. That was because I received a Priesthood Blessing. This is my testimony. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
